All licenses issued in the European Union are accepted.
Driver's licences from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if you have a visa in your passport and at the time of rental have not been in Europe for longer than 6 months. If your domestic driving licence is printed with non Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic etc), an International Driving Permit (IDP/IDL) or an official translation in English is required together with your driver's license when you drive in Switzerland.
To drive in Switzerland, the driver must present a valid national driver's license that has been held for at least 1 or 2 years (according to different car rental company). The minimum age to drive in Italy is 20 years old (age may vary by car category).

They tried to sell additional insurance on pickup. I didn’t take it because I had full cover from QEEQ.COM.
Upon return nobody was there to check the car. I left the car in the same condition as I picked it up. Two days later my card was changed over 2800 CHF. I had to follow up to find out that it was due to damage I made (!). I took 4 weeks to get the damage report from Budget. Apparently there were some body marks I three places on the van.
My booking was with a fully comprehensive insurance but when I took the car they said we don't know about your insurance and you have to pay €2000 as deposit. And until now I have not received my deposit back

After this booking I tried with Thrifty Milan rent a car and they gave me very bad time, rude , unprofessional ,waited too long and didn’t get the car and cancelled my booking saying my credit card is a debit card in their system, WTF! which I had already used everywhere in Swiss.. That’s really when I understood quality of Europe car. I would try to Stick to Europe car but sometimes they aren’t affordable.
10Bang on.....self drive cars was never this easy to book
The car given was a brand new Opel Grandland X. Fully loaded car with great comfort of driving. The landy at reception counter was very prompt and cooperative.
Everything was great except for one thing which was very frustrating. When we picked up our car we requested a car seat. The only problem was that we didn’t know how to install a European car seat and no would help us. They said it’s their policy but isn’t it more of a liability to give a car seat for an infant and not give proper instructions to install in the case of an accident that infant can be hurt. It took us 1 hour to figure this out with little WiFi looking for a helpful video online which delayed our pick up by a lot.
in airport, they open at 8:00 am, while we are lucky to be the first 2 customer, no need to wait longer.
Although we rent for a Volkswagen car, but eventually they gave me Skoda Octavia, its more or less similar, acceptable.

Free upgrade of car which is good but the upgraded car came with scratches. Upon return, they claimed to have no such records in the system. Luckily I have photos to prove my innocence.
During collection, they mislead me to think that my deposit was made for a compulsory payment for a full tank of fuel. Eventually, i did not refuel upon return and they took my whole deposit.

Overall Europcar is great and the cars provided are amazing, the type of car, the ease of registration, every was nearly perfect. However my only negative comment is during departure from geneva, the staff at the counter at the parking did not help me in my baby chair at all, he just pointed at the chair which was outside the office and i had to carry it, assemble it in the car by myself without guidance so i have to figure it out while he was playing with his phone in the office. I am paying for that service and expected at least some sort of guidance and help to get it to my car. For all those driving parents out there they would know the hassle of figuring out different baby chairs and how to attach them to the seat. Other than that, the staff where i dropped off in Zurich was amazing, i did not get his name but well done to you sir!

Q2. How can I add an addtional driver?
You are advised to make a request upon your arrival at the rental counter. Additional charge per day will incur unless '1 Additional Driver Included' is stipulated on the rental. Please note that the same licence and age requirement applys to the additonal driver. The addtional driver is supposed to present the required licence document along with the main driver at pickup.
Q3.What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car out of office hours?
QEEQ will show you the car offers available at your chosen time on the search results. However, pick-up or drop-off out of general opening hours may subject to an extra fee unless self-service pick-up or drop-off is available. Q4. Can I take the hired car to another country or cross border?
If you want to pick up your car in one country and drop it in another, your search results will show you cars you can do that with. If you're planning to cross any borders during your trip, bear in mind: 1. You may have to pay more. There are often extra fees, taxes or additional cover you'll pay at the car hire counter. 2.It may not be allowed. Depending on where you're hiring, you may not be able to take your car to another country. Yes. You can pick up the vehicle in one place and drop it off in another. An ‘one-way fee’ will incur. Please inform the car hire company of your drop-off location when you pick up the vehicle or contact them directly during your trip.
