Driver's License Requirements

Phillip Island, Mornington Peninsula

You are allowed to drive and bring the vehicle to Phillip Island because there is a bridge from Melbourne connecting to Phillip Island as long as you cannot bring and put the vehicle to ferry for cross over.

Conditional:

Depending on which island to bring the rental cars to, policies differ:
Bruny Island

Please inform the branch in advance and ask for the written permission. Rental cars can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well maintained roads. Excluded from the protection is when the vehicle is on the ferry or drove on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood water.

The car was a larger SUV than expected and was beneficially also a hybrid also, these were both excellent benefits.
